One person dead after shooting in Southeast Austin

Police are investigating a deadly shooting in Southeast Austin that also left two others hurt. It happened around 1:45 a.m. in the H-E-B parking lot at Riverside and Pleasant Valley.

Multiple 9-1-1 calls were made to police about multiple people fighting in the parking lot. Police believe that the people involved do all know each other and met in the parking lot to conduct some kind of business.

At some point during the meeting police say an altercation started between the suspect and the victims which led to one person being shot to death.

Two others were hurt. One was shot and the other was hit with an object of some type. Both were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.

The shooting suspect took off on foot but police were able to take him into custody just before 10 a.m. Police say charges will be filed soon.
