Open house to get input on Austin's transportation future

If you're interested in being a part of Austin's transportation future Wednesday's your chance to have a say. The City of Austin and Capital Metro are hosting an open house to get public input.

There is a plan called Project Connect which could go before voters in the November 2020 election for approval. It shows 11 potential rail or other forms of rapid transit routes Cap Metro would like to add in Central Texas.

The overall idea of the project is to get people to places faster. Some of the options also include light rails and rapid buses.

One line would connect downtown to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport while other routes have also been discussed.

Officials have been working on the project for nearly two years.

If you want to give some feedback you can go to the open house at the Austin Central Library from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
