Police investigate shooting on East 6th Street

AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Austin police investigating shooting on 6th Street.

The shooting happened just before midnight in the 300 block of East 6th Street.

A man is his 20s was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound and officials say the victim's injuries are life threatening.

Police say several people have been detained and that they were still on the lookout for people who may have been involved.

The shooting was one of several that happened over the weekend.
