Rashad Owens set to make court appearance

Rashad Owens is set to appear in court as jury selection begins for his trial. He'll finally come face to face with the people who could put him away for the rest of his life.

Owens has plead not guilty to killing four people and injuring 24 others at a South by Southwest event in March 2014. He has been held on $5.5 million bond since the deadly crash.

Austin police say Owens was driving drunk with a blood alcohol level of .114 when he tried getting away from an officer by speeding down a closed street, slamming through a barricade and hitting the victims with his car.

In a June 2014 interview FOX 7 did with an attorney for Owens, the attorney said Owens was sincerely sorry and said, "Regardless of this thing he did he does have a lot of remorse. He did relay that to me and he put some things in writing for me to read and I told him at the appropriate time we would do that."

Potential jurors will have their work cut out for them.

Owens faces one capital murder charge, four counts of murder and 24 charges of aggravated assault.

The trial is set to start November 2.
