Red Cross Shelter opens in Travis County

AUSTIN TX, May 29, 2016 — Due to the severe weather that made its way through Travis County over the course of Memorial Day weekend, many homes and residences were damaged by the floods. The American Red Cross serving Central Texas will be opening a shelter at Parker Lane United Methodist Church; 2105 Parker Lane, Austin, TX 78741 beginning today, Sunday, May 29th at 5 PM. Residents in need of shelter are encouraged to come. Meals and snacks will be served to residents.
Red Cross volunteers will begin disaster assessment in the affected areas to assist families who have had damage to their homes due to the high rainfall and flooding.
