Suspect killed in officer-involved shooting
Round Rock police are investigating after what's believed to be a domestic violence incident.
ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that left one person dead and two people injured.
The backstory:
The incident happened at around 1 a.m. on Phoenix Way near Gattis School Road.
Round Rock PD says officers were called to a stabbing by a woman who was critically wounded and had escaped her home and ran to a nearby home.
The woman told officers her husband was still inside her home with the suspect.
Round Rock PD says officers encountered a dangerous situation.
What they're saying:
"The officers then, at that point, kicked in the door. Once they kicked in the door, they encountered a male subject with a knife," Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks said at a news conference. "One officer did discharge his firearm at the suspect with the knife."
Chief Banks said the suspect was taken into custody and medical aid was rendered at that point.
Banks noted that a male was also located inside the home with multiple stab wounds.

Officials say the suspect was taken to the hospital where they died from their injuries.
