School walk-ins for education reform

Education reform is the lesson for school leaders today. Austin Independent Schools District Superintendent Dr. Paul Cruz is leading the charge for change with a series of walk-ins.

Dr. Cruz as well as other school leaders and concerned parents who are fighting for more school funding are at Burnet Middle School.

The goal is tell politicians that public schools need better funding so teachers will have the resources to break down the barriers in poorer communities and give all students the opportunity to succeed.

Dr. Cruz will speak and it will be followed by a rally where people can sound off with the hope to get a message to Washington, D.C.

Burnet Middle School is one of three schools participating along with Hart Elementary and Webb Middle School.

It's part of a national day of action where people in 30 cities and 600 schools will participate.
