Search for suspect following assault involving machete-like knife near UT Austin

Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly attacked someone with a machete-like knife near the UT Austin campus. The suspect is described as a white male with blonde hair. He is believed to be in his early twenties, according to police. 

The attack happened near the intersection of 23 Street and San Antonio Street, according to the University of Texas At Austin- Police Department. The call came into dispatch around 4 p.m. on Monday, September 23, according to APD. When officers arrived on scene, they found a victim with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim was transported to a local hospital. 

The Austin Police Department is also responding to this assault. 

The suspect is no longer believed to be in the area, according to UTPD.
