Shooting near I-35 leaves one dead

AUSTIN, Texas - One person is dead following a shooting in downtown Austin.

According to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, first responders were dispatched to the service road of southbound I-35, north of Lady Bird Lake. When ATCEMS medics arrived on scene, the victim was already deceased. He is described as a male.

The Austin Police Department will be conducting an investigation to determine what events led up to the shooting. Drivers should expect first responders to be in the area for a while.
