Slate unveils $25K electric truck to be built in America

Slate just announced customers can preorder its newly unveiled electric pickup truck.

The company claimed it was developing the "most affordable pickup truck in America." 

By the numbers:

Slate’s new electric truck retails at $24,950, according to its website. That's without all the add-on offerings.

Dig deeper:

The battery range for the Slate Truck is projected to be around 205 miles and its rear-mounted motor can produce 201 horsepower. 

Slate’s truck will be compatible with North American Charging Standard chargers for DC fast charging and its battery can be charged to 80% in about 30 minutes. 

The backstory:

Slate Auto was founded in 2022 and is backed by Amazon’s founder, Jeff Bezos, and LA Dodgers owner, Mark Walter.
