Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

Stamp Out Hunger is a nationwide relief effort led by the National Association of Letter Carriers. H-E-B provides the donation bags, which you fill with non-perishable food items. You then place the bag next to your mailbox before regular mail delivery on May 9.

In Central Texas, letter carriers will collect the donations and bring it to the Capital Area Food Bank.

Last year more than 100,000 pounds of food was collected for the agency. That helped provide more than 90,000 meals to Central Texans.

Here are a few examples of nonperishable food items you can donate:

-Cereal

-Pasta

-Canned fruits and veggies

-Canned or dry beans

-Pasta sauce or spaghetti sauce

-100% juice

Food donations can also be dropped off at any post office.
