TCSO increasing presence during Memorial Day Weekend

The Travis County Sheriff's Office has announced that it will be increasing its presence at Lake Travis and area roadways during Memorial Day Weekend. 

The sheriff's office says that the TCSO Lake Patrol will be fully staffed and will be actively monitoring the waters at Lake Travis for intoxicated boaters over the weekend.

The sheriff's office will also increase its presence on Austin-area roadways. "DWI, traffic and patrol units will be on the lookout for intoxicated drivers as well as serious traffic offenses," TCSO said in a press release. 

The sheriff's office is working in conjunction with the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department during the holiday weekend.

"While COVID-19 has changed some aspects of how we interact with the public, social distancing will not keep us from making DWI arrests. We remind everyone to be safe and courteous out there and as always, buckle up, and don’t drink and drive," the sheriff's office said.
