7 teens arrested for series of crimes in Austin: APD
AUSTIN, Texas - Seven teens were arrested in connection to a string of crimes in Austin, police said.
Austin police said the string of crimes started on Jan. 12 and lasted for two days. All seven suspects were involved in a string of auto thefts, violent carjackings, and business burglaries. APD provided a list of crimes that took place:
- Stolen car in Travis County
- Security officer carjacking
- Vape shop burglary
- Failed carjacking
- Honda Civic carjacking
- Tiny Pies Bakery burglary
- The Gents Place burglary
- Vehicle pursuits
One of the carjackings was of an on-duty security guard. Police said the stolen car was then used in two additional carjackings.
APD released the names of two of the suspects, Javonni McDowell and Rashon Mosee. Both Mosee and McDowell are 17 years old.
All seven suspects were arrested on Jan. 14.
This is an ongoing investigation.
