Texas State student found dead in Guadalupe Co. after being dragged by shuttle bus

The tributes for 20-year-old Texas State student Jordin Taylor are pouring in on social media.

Fellow Texas State student Nicole Carter wrote "You left an impact on me and I'll cherish you forever.  It's just not fair."

Guadalupe County Sheriff Arnold Zwicke says there was a college Halloween party at Cool River Ranch on Friday night -- a tubing and concert venue. Zwicke says students got to the park via Cool River Ranch shuttle buses.

"My understanding is that it went from the parking lot of the college to the ranch itself," said Zwicke.

As the park was closing for the night and students were being shuttled out, one of the buses suffered an air pressure leak and had to be shut down for the night.  On Saturday afternoon a mechanic went to check the bus and found Taylor's body underneath.

"Right now the preliminary investigation shows that the victim came into contact with the bus somehow.  We're unsure of how but was struck by the left rear wheel and was drug over 500 feet," Zwicke said.

The Sheriff says this is most likely an accident.  Foul play hasn't come into the picture.

"She was with people earlier and left that group she was with but we're trying to figure out who she was with last," he said.

We did reach out to Cool River Ranch and have not heard back.  I did speak with Guadalupe County Precinct 2 Commissioner Jack Shanafalt.  He basically said it was only a matter of time before something happened at Cool River.  He says its known for loud parties and no security.
