New voting machines are also being used and with the system, voters receive a sheet of paper with all their ballot choices allowing voters to check before inserting it into a scanner. FOX 7 Austin's Jacqueline Sarkissian got a preview of the machine back in February.

Rain or shine the polls will stay open as long as you're in line by 7 p.m.
