Two blocks of 11th Street closed for suspicious package near courthouse

AUSTIN, Texas - A suspicious package near the Travis County Criminal Justice Center caused two blocks of 11th Street to be closed in downtown Austin Tuesday evening.

11th Street was closed between Guadalupe and Neches streets. Austin police, fire and EMS units were on scene.

The package was later deemed not a threat to the public.

Austin police are still investigating the matter.
