*Update* Deadly crash in East Austin

APD confirms that they have arrested the driver in the crash on Tillery Street. He is being charged with DUI.

Austin police are investigating a deadly car crash that happened earlier this morning on Tillery Street.

The car was driving north on Tillery when for some reason it hit a utility pole and then several other utility poles. A woman in her 20s was thrown from the car and died on the scene.

A second person in the car, a male, was injured and is currently being treated at UMC Brackenridge.

Vehicular homicide detectives are on scene because the crash stretches nearly five  blocks from where the car hit a utility pole and came to stop.

Tillery Street between Lyons Road is closed and may impact the morning commute for some.

Police have not released the names of the people involved in this crash.
