UT Austin Stop the Bleed chapter to hold free training sessions

The University of Texas at Austin chapter of Stop the Bleed will be hosting free training sessions for anyone wanting to learn how to help in a bleeding emergency.

Six one-hour classes will be held twice a month from October until December. The classes will help give knowledge and experience in basic bleeding control techniques such as direct pressure, tourniquets and packing wounds.

  • Wednesday, October 30: 6:30-7:30 p.m., University Teaching Center (UTC) 1.144
  • Thursday, November 7th: 6:30-7:30 p.m., University Teaching Center (UTC) 1.144
  • Thursday, November 14th: 4-5 p.m., Dell Medical School, Health Learning Building (HLB) 1.111
  • December 4th: 6:30-7:30 p.m., University Teaching Center (UTC) 1.144
  • December 12th: 4:30-5:30 p.m., Dell Medical School, Health Learning Building (HLB) 1.111

Dell Medical School sponsors the UT Austin chapter of Stop the Bleed.

Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign launched in October 2015 by the White House to "cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives."
