Victim in deadly crash in Southeast Austin identified

The Austin Police Department has identified the man killed in a crash in Southeast Austin on April 20.

The incident happened at around 3:43 p.m. at the East Ben White Boulevard service road and Todd Lane.

Police say the initial investigation shows that a white, 2019 flatbed truck ran the red light crossing over the eastbound lanes of the service road heading southbound on Todd Lane.

The flatbed truck hit a white, 2011 Ford F-150 on the driver's side of the vehicle and the driver of the F-150 was pronounced dead on the scene just after 4 p.m.

The driver of the F-150 has been identified as 49-year-old Lucino Gonzales LandaVerde.

Police say no charges are expected at this time and that the information about the incident could change as the investigation is still pending.
