We Are Blood on standby to help El Paso victims

Local blood center We Are Blood says it stands ready to help those in need after Saturday's mass shooting in El Paso.

20 people were killed and 26 others wounded after a 21-year-old gunman opened fire inside a Walmart in the Cielo Vista Mall area. The suspect is in custody.

The El Paso Police Department tweeted that blood donations were needed urgently and that the injured were transported to various hospitals in the area.

We Are Blood issued a statement via their Facebook page, saying they stand ready to help if needed.
