The steady rainfall throughout the day caused traffic delays and some damage throughout Central Texas.

This morning on I-35 North a semi truck overturned due to the heavy rain. The 18 wheeler blocked two right lanes and backed up traffic for several miles. It took crews about two hours to clear the scene. Austin police say there were no injuries.

Businesses at the North Austin Business Center on Burnet experience some damage due to the rain. The owner of Continental Custom Tailors that heavy rain was responsible for what looks like the roof partially caving in and bringing part of the outside brick wall with it.

Austin Code says its initial assessment is that the damage was likely caused by clogged drainage but they are investigating. The complex is shut down for now and some other businesses are moving stuff out.

Onion Creek at 183 also crested just shy of the flood stage.

In Thrall, police tell FOX 7 Austin that lightning was to blame for a house fire. First responders arrived and the family at first believed their family dog was still inside. Officials say however the dog was found safe and everyone was okay.

Lightning was also believed responsible for some fires in Caldwell County. There's also some damage there that county officials are working to determine if it's weather, possibly tornado, related.
