In celebration of Shark Awareness Day on July 14th, guests can now swim with the sharks and stingrays at Discovery Cove.

Discovery Cove has been known for its hands-on dolphin interactions, but is now working to dispel myths about sharks by allowing guests to swim with these creatures as well.

The immersive session will be divided into two different experiences.  Guests will learn about sharks, their anatomy, and their environment as they head into the water with the animals.  The park’s shark team also leads guests on a snorkeling tour to deeper parts of their habitat.

Discovery Cove hopes that guests will leave with a deeper understanding of these fascinating predators.

The Shark Swim experience is available to guests ages 10 and older.  It will cost $85 per person and 5% of the proceeds will be donated to the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation in support of shark conservation and research.

Discovery Cove has also launched an opportunity to take a private tour of the Grand Reef, which gives guests the chance to feed the stingrays.

During this new Ray Feeding experience, guests ages 6 and older will learn about the many different species of stingrays.

The park encourages guest to book in advance as space is limited for both of these fascinating experiences is limited.  Visit www.discoverycove.com for more details.
