Concordia men's basketball team ties program record

The Concordia men's basketball team recently tied a program record with a 144 point game. The game also saw a career high 51 points from senior guard Donovan Ford who hit a conference record 12 three pointers.

It was the 10th time the Tornadoes have topped the century mark in 21 games. The team is currently off to a 12-9 start.

Head coach Stan Bonewitz says of the recent record tying game, "As the game progressed, the scoring just kind of happened. It was a weird night, the kind of night I've never a part of as a player or a coach."

As for Bonewitz's thoughts on Ford, Bonewitz says, "He's a terrific shooter. He's as good of a shooter as I've been around at any level."

Ford says he knew the game was going to be different than any other one he's played in just minutes into the game.

"I guess when I had about 20 in the first six minutes in the game, I thought it could be special. But I'm unselfish to the point to where let's get the win," Ford says.

"You work that hard for those moments. You work hard to be in the record books. That's something nobody can take from you," Ford adds.
