UT Longhorns baseball team sweeps LSU

AUSTIN, Texas - The first two games of the much anticipated baseball series between the University of Texas Longhorns and LSU Tigers were not close with Texas outscoring LSU 16-5 in its two wins.

It was a close third game but Texas came out on top with a comeback 7-6 win thanks to some great hitting down the stretch from Austin Todd.

Longhorns head coach David Pierce says, "It's early information but it proves that we can play with anyone in the country. We've got enough arms. We've got a gritty team and we're growing. If we don't get confidence off this, I don't know what does."

Todd agrees saying, "We're never going to back down. And against a team like that you can never. Anytime you can get a sweep against those guys like that it's a big win for us."

Todd says the he and team will be using the sweep of the number two ranked team as momentum moving forward.
