Emergency workers with axes and cadaver dogs are marking the ruins of Maui homes with a bright orange X for an initial search and HR when they find human remains.

The Mormon church said four of the members were part of the same family.

The wildfires in Maui have claimed at least 93 lives, making it the deadliest in modern US history.

The new death toll Saturday came as federal emergency workers with axes and cadaver dogs picked through the aftermath of the blaze.

A Lahaina, Hawaii native shares that four of his family members have died in the wildfire and that another remains missing.

Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sánchez are making a financial donation to help fund the relief and recovery efforts in Maui, Hawaii.

Dramatic video shows several in Lahaina, Hawaii jumping into the ocean to escape the wildfire. 

Officials said relief is needed immediately, and more will be required later as the islands recover from the impacts.

Aerial footage showed whole sections of Lahaina had been reduced to gray ash, including Front Street, where tourists shopped and dined just days ago. Smoking heaps of rubble lay piled high next to the waterfront in the town, which dates to the 1700s.

United Airlines is apologizing for the inconvenience and is working to get passengers to their destinations as soon as possible but the safety of their passengers is their main concern.

For generations, the banyan tree along Lahaina town’s historic Front Street served as a gathering place, its leafy branches unfurling majestically to give shade from the Hawaiian sun.

The winds will slowly decrease Thursday across the islands as strong high pressure to the north will continue to weaken and move westward, the FOX Forecast Center said.
