A 4-year-old boy in Cartersville got a special surprise on Halloween.

The boy, who has autism, loves marching bands.

His neighbor, a freshman in the band at Cartersville High School, knew about the little kid's love of music and wanted to do something very special.

He talked to the other members of the band, and they all showed up at the boy's door ready for him to take the lead.

"He stood up there, a freshman in front of his peers, and said 'Hey, this is what I want to do, this is what it's for. Anybody who wants to help please help," Cartersville City Schools Director of Bands Alex Shive said.

Around 25 of the band's members joined in the parade.

After the band finished their march through the 4-year-old's neighborhood, the teens took him trick-or-treating.
