AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department says they currently have one employee that has tested positive for COVID-19.
The department said that due to privacy concerns, they will not be releasing what unit they work in.
APD says the department has notified employees who have potentially had contact with this person and that the COVID-19 positive employee is currently under quarantine at home.
APD employees with symptoms have been utilizing a testing site set up for first responders, says the department.
"The health and safety of our employees is of the utmost importance and we are exercising all precautions to stop the spread of COVID-19," says APD.
