APD still searching for baby Elijah's mother
AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Baby Elijah was found on Monday night and is now with Child Protective Service but the search still continues for his mother, Brittany Sadi Smith.
Smith checked into a local hospital under a false name on Friday, July 19 and gave birth to Elijah, according to police. Smith reportedly gave permission for the baby to leave the hospital on Monday, July 22 with Brandy Galbert.
On Wednesday, July 24, Child Protective Investigations received a court order for Elijah to be removed from the mother's custody and placed into theirs. An AMBER Alert was issued.
Brandy Galbert is in custody, however, APD is still looking for the baby's mother.
