Arlington National Cemetery reopens after bomb threat reported

Arlington National Cemetery has reopened after a bomb threat was reported Wednesday, according to officials.

Cemetery officials say authorities responded to the threat that came in at around 9:30 a.m.

All families, visitors and employees were evacuated, but the cemetery did remain open for funerals. Arlington National Cemetery spokesperson Barbara Lewandrowski says 24 funerals were held as scheduled.

Later in the afternoon, authorities cleared all areas of the cemetery, resumed normal operations and reopened to the public.

Officials say the cemetery would remain open until its normal closing time of 7 p.m.
