From a German celebration to some low key celebrity sightings, there's a lot going on this weekend around Austin.

AUSTIN, Texas - Happy weekend! There are plenty of fun events happening around Central Texas this weekend. Many businesses and events around Austin are celebrating Veterans and active military service members with deals for Veterans Day. There are also other fun events highlighting local artists and a few conventions running this weekend, be sure to check them all out below!

Waterloo Greenway’s 6th Annual Creek Show - November 7-17

This free ten-day event kicked off Thursday night and will run until Sunday the 17th. Waterloo Greenway’s 6th Annual Creek Show is happening along Waller Creek, between 9th Street and 12th Street. Attendees can start their walk at the entrance near 9th Street and Red River Street and make their way through six light-based art installations. "With live music performances each night, fun family activities, and oodles of photo-ops, Creek Show has grown to become one of Austin’s signature fall events you don’t want to miss this!" says Waterloo Greenway. 2019 Austin Kidney Walk - November 10

The Annual Austin Kidney Walk happens this Sunday, November 11 at 8 AM. One in three American adults are at risk for kidney disease and this weekend Central Texans are aiming to raise awareness. You can still register to walk or donate to the National Kidney Foundation here.

FOX 7 Austin's Tierra Neubaum got details on the event going on in Bastrop.

"Honoring our American Veteran's is not something we take lightly in Bastrop, Texas."

The Heros & Hot Rods Veterans Day Car Show will honor Veterans this weekend. This is the 14th year for the car show and Veternas tribute. On Friday night, Veterans and active military personal will be celebrated in a "Cruise In" in Downtown Bastrop. In the last two years, the show has averaged over 400 cars! This free event runs this Friday & Saturday and starts at 4 PM Friday night.

Wurstfest - November 8-10

"Sprechen sie fun?" This is the last weekend you can enjoy the annual "Wusrfest!"

Celebrate German culture with food, music, dancing and carnival rides! German and domestic beers will be served alongside none other than the namesake of the carnival, Wursts! Tickets cost $15 online and at the gates and are free this Sunday, November 11.

The Austin Record Convention - November 9-10

Austin Record Convention returns November 9th weekend

It’s been called the “largest indoor music sale in the country.” The Austin Record Convention has been a tradition since 1981. 

In its 38th year, The Austin Record Convention is the largest sale of recorded music in the USA, according to the events website. Over 300 dealers from all over the US and Europe will be selling over a million records and music memorabilia. You can check out over 40,000 square feet of music history this Saturday and Sunday. General admission is $5 and is good for both days.

Wizard World Austin - November 8-10

The Wizard World Comic Con comes to the Austin Convention Center this weekend. Actors, artists, and writers from all over the creative community will be attending this three-day event that runs from Friday to Sunday. Notable talent includes Henrey Winkler from "Happy Days" and Pro Wrestler Devon Dudley. Weekend passes start at $69.99.
