Austin City Limits Radio to debut on Thursday

The Austin City Limits brand is heading to the radio. Emmis Austin Radio's KGSR is partnering with the brand and debuting as a new station, Austin City Limits Radio, the company announced on Thursday.

The new station launches at 5 p.m. on Thursday and will be available on 93.3 FM, 97.1 FM and on ACL-Radio.com.

The general manager at ACL, Tom Gimbel, says it's a natural step for them to extend into radio.

"It's exciting to see ACL take this very natural next step by extending into radio," Gimbel said in a statement. "To partner with another of Austin's great music beacons in KGSR, one with a 28 year history in the market, is an incredible opportunity to enrich our local airwaves and serve the Austin community."

Emmis Austin Radio says listeners can expect to hear everything from Willie Nelson to Kendrick Lamar.

KGSR's signature events like Blues on the Green and Unplugged at the Grove, will continue to be produced by Austin City Limits Radio.
