Austin police officer injured in Northeast Austin crash

The crash happened on West Parmer Lane near Highway 45 shortly before 12:30 a.m.

AUSTIN, Texas - An Austin Police Department officer is in the hospital after a crash in Northwest Austin.

The crash happened on West Parmer Lane near Highway 45 shortly before 12:30 a.m. this morning.

APD says the officer was working a crash when a driver rear-ended the officer's patrol car.

The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver that hit the patrol car was arrested for DWI.
