Brush fire in southwest Austin near encampment: AFD

AUSTIN, Texas - Austin Fire officials are responding to a brush fire in southwest Austin.

AFD is responding to a brush fire in the 6500 block of West William Cannon Drive.

Initial reports stated that tires and debris were on fire.

Fire crews are working to extinguish the fire and protect the immediate area from fire extension into the surrounding encampment.
