C-USA passes policies to help athletes with time management

Conference USA has approved initiatives designed to help student-athletes with their time management.
Among the items unanimously approved at the league's winter meetings this week was a mandatory two-week period after the completion of a season when there can be no required athletically related activities.
Each of the conference's 14 schools will also be required to conduct a time-management session for all incoming student-athletes.
The new requirements go into effect Aug. 1.
C-USA officials said Thursday that the league's presidents, chancellors and athletic directors also voted to opt-in as a conference on all of the autonomy legislation passed at the NCAA Convention earlier this month. That ranges from independent medical care and baseball representation to the permissive legislation regarding institutional pre-enrollment fees and meals and accommodations for official visits.
