Cave collapse causes sinkhole in Williamson County

Traffic has been diverted and residents in the area have been alerted after a sinkhole has opened up in Williamson County.

Officials say the 20 foot sinkhole opened up in the 8400 block of Cambria Drive near the Woods of Brushy Creek subdivision.

Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District officials say the roof of a cave collapsed and caused the sinkhole and the collapse in the road broke the water line leaving 10 homes without water.

Crews are working on restoring service and assessing the damage.

The area is closed until further notice.
