Deadly overnight crash on I-35

Two people are dead after an overnight crash on I-35. The crash happened just before midnight in the 5600 block just north of 51st Street.

Police say an SUV was stopped in the northbound lanes for an unknown reason when an 18 wheeler hit the SUV igniting the vehicle.

Officers in the area saw the SUV burst into flames and FOX 7 viewer Josh Brown captured video.

Two people were pronounced dead on the scene.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen this incident to contact Austin Police Department Vehicular Homicide Unit at 512-974-5594.

No one has been arrested in connection to the wreck and the identities of the victims has not been released.
