Deadly overnight on Austin roads

One woman is dead in an overnight crash in Austin.

It happened around 2 AM Wednesday morning on Barton Springs Road.

According to Austin police a female driver in a pick up truck was driving west on Barton Springs Road when she hit a tree and died on scene.

She was the only person in the pick up truck and no other cars or people were involved.

Investigators are trying to figure out if weather, speed, or alcohol played a role in this crash.
