Early morning shooting in East Austin

One man has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after an early morning shooting in East Austin on Thursday.

It happened somewhere in the Lynridge Dr., Langston Dr., Dubuque Ln. area.  Police aren’t sure where the actual shooting took place at this time, but can confirm a shooting did occur. 

A homeowner in the area said they heard a couple of gun shots and then a man knocked on their door and said he'd been shot. He asked them to call 911. 

When police arrived on scene, officers say the victim told them he was shot down the street on Lynridge Drive.

According to Austin police, the victim is currently in surgery at Dell-Seton Medical Center. He was shot in the upper back. 

No suspect or suspects have been taken into custody at this time.
