Fire destroys Western Travis County home

Officials say a home in Briarcliff is a complete loss after an early morning fire.

The fire started at around 5:30 a.m. and it took about three hours to put out. They say a lack of hydrants in the neighborhood made it difficult to put out the flames.

Multiple agencies were called out to the home which is on Lake Travis.

Officials say no one was home at the time and that the owners were out of town. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
