Fmr. AISD teacher arrested for having sexual relationship with student
Former Austin Independent School District teacher and coach Tiffany Howard (aka Tiffany Friesenhahn) was arrested last week for having a sexual relationship with a female student over a three-year period.
AISD Police said Howard, 41, began a sexual relationship with a female student who was just 13 years old. That relationship continued until the victim's freshman year of high school.
According to the probable cause affidavit, an investigation began in October 2013 after authorities found letters inside of Howard's desk that contained explicit language suggesting an improper relationship was taking place between Howard and the student.
In one letter found Howard wrote:
The report states that Howard and the victim were interviewed by AISD Police and school officials but each denied any inappropriate contact occurred.
According to the report, in October 2015 the victim voluntarily went to authorities and admitted that she lied during the initial investigation and that an abusive, sexual relationship had taken place between her and Howard.
The victim said Howard would take her to Howard's home to have sex with her and if Howard's husband was home, she would take her to other people's houses.
The victim said that Howard would drink around her and, when drunk, would become physically abusive.
AISD Police recovered over 52 pages of text messages between the victim and Howard over a particular seven to 10 day period in which Howard referred to encounters between the two.
One such message said:
According to the report, Howard was later put on administrative leave in 2013 and later fired. According to paperwork, she worked for A.I.S.D. from August of 2009 until December 2013.
Howard's bond was set at $25,000.
