Man arrested in connection to deadly SE Austin hit-and-run

AUSTIN, Texas - A man was arrested in connection to a deadly hit-and-run crash in Southeast Austin, police said.

What we know:
Austin police said 28-year-old Aldair Albiter-Casas was arrested in connection to the death of Kyla Walker, 39.
Albiter-Casas was charged with collision involving death and booked into the Travis County Jail.

The backstory:
Austin police said on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024, around 6:29 p.m., officers responded to a pedestrian crash at the intersection of East Stassney Lane and Teri Road.
The pedestrian, Kyla Walker, died at the scene.
Police said Albiter-Casas did not stop and left the area.
