Man charged in connection to suspicious death in known transient camp location

The Travis County Sheriff's Office says it has charged a 24-year-old man in connection to a suspicious death in a known transient camp.

58-year-old Mitchell Leonard Sullins, who officials say was a transient, was found dead at just after 7 a.m. on May 21 in the 1700 block of East Parmer Lane.

Sullins was found in an abandoned home on the property which TCSO says is a known transient camp location.

Deputies say Sullins' body was found wrapped in carpet and in an advanced state of decomposition. 

Further investigation by detectives revealed evidence that the body of Sullins had been located other places within the camp.

Isiah Dante Perez has been charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence - human corpse. Perez is currently in the Travis County Jail.

The investigation into the exact cause of death is still ongoing.
