Man hurt after car crash involving scooter in downtown Austin

AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - An early morning crash in downtown Austin has left one person in critical condition. 

It happened just before 1 a.m. on the southbound service road of I-35 at 6th Street.

Police say a car hit a man in his 20s on a scooter.

The victim was unconscious when he was taken to the hospital. Officials say he had life threatening injuries.

The driver of the car remained on scene and police say he is cooperating with the investigation.
