NFL 2025: These cities, states produce the most players

NFL talent can be found anywhere, but certain regions of the country have become hubs for turning out a higher concentration of pro football stars.

To explore which areas are producing the most NFL players, a study released by sports data experts Lineups, examined more than 2,800 players profiles available on ESPN's website to find which cities and states are the most common hometowns for these ballers.

The data narrowed the list to feature states and cities with the most states and cities producing NFL players statistically. 

These are the locales that have become pipelines for producing the highest number of NFL players.

Top 10 states producing the most NFL players

  1. Texas (304 NFL players)
  2. Florida (287 NFL players)
  3. California (278 NFL players)
  4. Georgia (221 NFL players)
  5. North Carolina (105 NFL players)
  6. Louisiana (102 NFL players)
  7. Ohio (99 NFL players)
  8. Michigan (93 NFL players)
  9. Illinois (89 NFL players)
  10. Alabama (85 NFL players)

  2. Detroit (36 NFL players)
  3. Miami (32 NFL players)
  4. Fort Lauderdale, Florida (28 NFL players)
