No serious injuries after crash involving car & MetroRail train
No serious injuries were reported after a crash involving a car and a MetroRail train. The crash happened near east 4th Street and the north I-35 Service Road at around 8:20 a.m.
A Capital Metro spokesperson says the car hit the train and the front end of the car was smashed. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The I-35 Service Road was shut down for and traffic diverted to Sixth Street and the crash caused a delay in MetroRail service for about 20 minutes.
17 passengers were on board the MetroRail train when the crash happened. None of them were hurt. The passengers were able to get off the train and were transported to nearby stations.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
