NOT ALONE: These mothers hope to inspire others during Infant Loss Awareness Month
(FOX 46 WJZY) - October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, and an Ohio photographer is sharing a group of mother's stories as they try to bring awareness to the issue.
All of the women in the photoshoot have experienced a loss, whether it was a miscarriage, still birth, or infant loss, Nicole DeHoff Photography told FOX 46 Charlotte.
"The purpose of the shoot was to raise awareness about miscarriage, still birth and infant loss. One in four women have experienced a loss, and we want them to know they’re not alone, and they should not be afraid to share their story," DeHoff said.
Each of the six women in the "rainbow baby" photoshoot shared their personal story in a video DeHoff put together and shared on social media.
According to experts, rainbow babies are babies born after a miscarriage, stillbirth, or neonatal death.
"Sharing their story can help bring comfort to those grieving, and struggling. Knowing they have that support out there when going through a difficult time," DeHoff said.
