Officials: Smith West fire 100 percent contained

Firefighters continued to fight flames in Llano and Blanco counties Friday morning. 

As of 1:45 p.m. the Smith West fire was 100 percent contained, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service. 21 agencies had been battling that brush fire.

Meanwhile, the battle with another large grass fire continues in Llano County. That fire was sparked near county road 308. Its burned more than a thousand acres and the fire is about 60 percent contained, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

For both fires, no homes have been damaged, no structures have been lost and no injuries have been reported.
