Parent physically fights Zavala Elementary School teacher

The staff of the Zavala Elementary School called police to report a physical fight between a parent and a teacher. 

It happened inside a daycare classroom with toddlers and babies present. Several parents and staff members attempted to stop the fight and get the children out of the classroom. 

The fight was between school employee Karina Scott and the parent of a child in the school's daycare by the name of Erica Shante Shaw. 

On Wednesday, February 9, the staff had called Child Protective Services (CPS) on Shaw due to the fact that her child reportedly had bruising/ injury on their face. Shaw was upset with the staff for not calling her first and going straight to CPS. 

Shaw has been been charged with a third degree felony, obstruction or retal. 

Bail was set at $25,000.
