DALLAS - Protests continued Friday demanding justice for Botham Jean, the innocent man who was shot and killed by Dallas Police Officer Amber Guyger when she claims she mistakenly entered his apartment.
A large group of protestors gathered once again Friday afternoon at the Dallas Police Department to demand that Officer Guyger be fired and that she be charged with murder instead of manslaughter.
After lawyers and community activists spoke, the group began marching through Downtown Dallas.
The group peacefully marched through Downtown Dallas, stopping at the Omni Hotel, the Adolphus Hotel, the Statler Hotel, and the offices of the Dallas Morning News, FOX 4 and WFAA before returning to DPD Headquarters.
A smaller group of about 10 people veered off and used their vehicles to block traffic on Interstate-30. After about 15 minutes, police officers showed up and the protesters line up on the interstate and raised their hands. After a bit, they all got into their vehicles and peacefully left without any incident.
No arrests were made.
