SWAT situation in North Austin near I-35 northbound ends, 1 in custody

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department says one person has been taken into custody after a SWAT situation in North Austin.

The incident began at just after 5 a.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 4600 block of the northbound I-35 service road.

Police say two people, who know each other, were in a verbal disagreement over a vehicle and that's when one person pulled out a knife.

Officers arrived at the scene and the person with the knife went into an apartment and refused to come out. SWAT was called to the scene and after a few hours the person came out and was taken into custody without incident.

Police say this was an isolated incident, and it's not clear if any charges will be filed at this time.
